The purpose of this report is to summarize the results of a survey about the existence of corporate governance codes for listed companies in Southeast Europe and Eurasia; public disclosure of the corporate governance codes; and gaps and challenges in implementing those codes. The Partners for Financial Stability Program (PFS) conducted the regional survey in September – November 2011 in accordance with its Regional Initiative on Capital Markets and Corporate Governance.

The survey was intended to evaluate the status of corporate governance codes, needs for assistance in developing and implementing codes, and the degree of potential cooperation which can be made with other donors.

This report: describes how and when the survey was conducted; presents the data obtained from responses to the survey; outlines the challenges faced and priorities in Eurasia and in SEE; lists the donors which have worked on and/or are still working on corporate governance codes in Eurasia and in SEE; and recommends follow-on activities which the PFS Program could undertake to address specific challenges.
